Great.

We're back to the rewriting of history in order to be politically correct.

Vatican: Banning Tintin Book is ‘Politically Correct Lunacy’

I read those books when I was young. I certainly didn't turn out to be a frothing racist, nor were my sensibilities hurt by the depictions of individuals of any race. I don't believe that the young people today are that sensitive, either...

He makes

some seriously politically incorrect comments...

BMX Aboriginals

...but you know, despite my usual knee-jerk response to any conservative political incorrectness (hey, I can do it, but you can't!), there's two things: first, he has his right to say these things (though the political correctness police claim otherwise) and second, sometimes these things need to be said. If questions aren't asked then new wrongs can take place.

I like his idea about the casino claim. It might be something to try...

Is pet a derogatory term? from CBC

The cats are silent on this one - or maybe they are sleeping

More insanity

Not a crime for Muslims to hurl shoes, says Met

So, a Muslim can throw a shoe at someone, but a Christian can't criticize Islam. English law is getting really, really politically correct (or incorrect, depending on which side of the fence you're on...) I'm sure people will be happy to hear this.

Further unsettling news

from the political correctness crowd...

White & guilty: ‘Whiteness’ workshop helps expose your inner racist

You're racist simply by being white, and to deny that you're racist is evidence that you are. Black is white. White is black. Yes is no. No is yes. Big Brother was right. Get ready to take a workshop...

More cultural insanity...

'Reliable' workers ad deemed discriminatory by U.K. job centre

I wonder if advertising for a slovenly, lazy, disreputable worker would then likewise be considered discriminatory, of just plain stupid?

This is the state of our world. Competent individuals beware! No one will ever be able to ask you to do a good job. I wonder if we can claim discrimination in our actual jobs, then, when asked to perform to a certain level? Isn't that discriminatory to those who perhaps can't or won't perform that way?

Why is it so hot in here, and what are we doing in this handbasket?

People

always want others to be perfect, no matter how good they are, and their perfection has to be in accord with the observer's own beliefs.

The Salvation Army - naughty or nice?

Well, they may as well shut down the disaster relief services, hostels, food programs, drug treatment, HIV programs, etc., etc.. Their religious beliefs (which everyone is allowed unless they conflict with certain politically correct segments of society) have been judged, found wanting, and, in the minds of the observers, the bad certainly must outweigh the good...

Sheer lunacy!

O' Unity Tree, O' Unity Tree

It's kind of like calling a Menorah a candelabra and and then making a public statement of it, or a law requiring it. What a bizarre world!

Be sure to continue reading the article after the ad for 'related titles' that occurs part-way down the page.

It's true, I think...

‘Mean-spirited’ minority wrong to claim Christmas offends non-Christians, Bill Donohue says

Most people I know who aren't Christian (they're either another faith or without a faith) don't give the real meaning of Christmas a second thought. It's the activist atheists who claim, for these people, that they do. This is just another instance where political correctness comes in and people are more willing to do the will of the minority rather than the will of the majority. I think it's mainly the fear of lawsuits by the minority, which is a gift given to us by our litigious neighbours to the South. Merry Christmas...

'A shroud of political correctness...'

The Rush to Therapy

There's nothing that political correctness for its own sake, and taken to the extreme in that truth can't be told, won't make worse...

(But that's a very politically incorrect thing to say...)

He takes on

the bloviating gasbags in the media and does a good job of it...

See No Evil

Some times, political correctness be damned, the truth has to be spoken, without fear of 'offending' someone's sensibilities...

Likewise

Mr. Knox could be said to be involved in an 'army of oppression' by he and his group not wanting to allow others to have their own opinions on issues that they disagree with. But then, that's not politically correct...

New Obama faith-based advisor described Knights of Columbus as ‘army of oppression’

The least tolerant people are often those who are demanding that others be tolerant...

Begorah!

From St. Patrick's Day to Shamrock Day?

Why don't they call it 'Leprechaun Day'? At least that's more interesting. Unless the people making these silly changes have a special affection for shamrocks, that is. I agree with the person quoted in the article. What will these people do with Rosh Hoshanah?

Only in America...

Loss of round one

Judge rejects atheists' 'so help me God' ban

"Pledge attacker rebuffed for challenging presidential oath"
A lawsuit brought on by the belief of some that the majority is supposed to, in normal politically correct fashion, bow to the minority?

Anyone with a lick of common sense

would say that this whole politically correct thing has gotten way out of hand (but we knew that already)...

Primary school receptionist 'facing sack' after daughter talks about Jesus to classmate

"A primary school receptionist, Jennie Cain, whose five-year-old daughter was told off for talking about Jesus in class is now facing the sack for seeking support from her church."
More politically-correct insanity, I guess. One a bureaucrat has made one of these decisions they seem to find it impossible to back down from it...

This sounds so crazy

‘Too Christian’ for Academia?

"A four-volume encyclopedia gets pulped in the name of political correctness."
So, because it deals with the politically correct world of academe where freedom of thought and speech are mere memories, I suspect that it's completely true...

Wonderful!

Victory for suspended Christian nurse

How absolutely terrific! A victory of common sense over political correctness. God bless them all!

Our crazy world

Nurse suspension over prayer 'could lead to thousands more'

Note that she was suspended simply for asking if the patient wanted her to pray for her. The patient "was not offended", but she was "taken aback". Another nurse made the complaint.

"It has reached a stage now where atheism has become so aggressive that it is quite intolerant of the expression of religious faith in a professional setting.

It is perhaps a paradox of earlier centuries where the world would have been intolerant of atheism."
In another vein, I always wonder why the majority are asked to be tolerant of the minority's wishes, but the minorities are never asked to be respectful and tolerant of the majority's. Ah, well. We live in a time when black is white, white is black, good is evil, etc., etc....
