Much like the fad of wearing ball caps. People now come to Mass and don't remove them at all. I suspect they sleep in them. The fact is that removing your hat in church is a sign of respect for our Lord in the Tabernacle and courtesy to the Church and the church community. Our culture has removed any thought of that from people's consciousness. Casual is in. Whatever is in fashion must be OK, right?
