How incredible that they can do this with impunity. It's just another symptom of a country that has gone completely bad, with the law impotent to stop crime. Why should foreigners take a chance going there for a vacation when there are so many other places much safer to visit?

What I can't understand is why people persist in going to Mexico for vacations. Mexico, whether the criminal element of the officials, has always shown itself to be terribly corrupt. It has always been a risky place to visit if you don't stay on the actual resorts. Why do people keep going there? The politicians were murdering Catholic priests into the 1920s. The drug cartels have more power than the government. If Mexico didn't have a free trade agreement with the U.S., and such a huge common border, I'm sure the U.S. would consider them a failed state...

An interesting history

of the brutal and racist beginnings of the U.S. and the way they behaved during the founding of their country (even though they abhor and protest the same behaviour in other countries today...).
