From last Wednesday's newspaper

a photograph of a good person...

The caption reads "A Jewish immigrant from Russia feeds cats at the marina in the southern city of Ashkelon, Israel."

And he's obviously not friendless...

R.I.P. - Irving Penn

Photographer Irving Penn Dies at 92

As the world of traditional photography seems to be in eclipse, replaced by digital photography, so too are the ranks of very talented traditional photographers being depleted every day, it seems.

Rest in peace, Mr. Penn...

A modern Messiah...

Journeys With The Messiah

The photographs are interesting, but after viewing them, I don't think that there's one that I'd want to own. If you watch the 'About Us' video, you'll find that he's a famous photographer who has done Calvin Klein ads, and so on. It shows. There's something overproduced and just not quite right about the photos. They don't tell a story as much as sell a product. I wonder who he's marketing these toward?

All in one place

Religious imagery in everyday objects

Here's a slideshow of a lot of the more recent or more famous 'appearances' of Jesus or Mary in everyday things. They're missing some of my favourites, like the picture of Mary in the cement floor of a garage shower stall and Jesus' image in a plate of spaghetti, but they've still got lots of good ones!
