Hundreds arrested as police use kettling in latest Montreal student protest


" A recent report by Ontario’s police watchdog blasted Toronto police for their use of kettling during the G20 summit two years ago, saying they violated civil rights, detained people illegally and used excessive force."

U.S. border agents given power to seize travellers' laptops, cellphones

This allows them to confiscate your cellphone or laptop and examine every bit of data on it without even any suspicion that you might be involved in illegal activity. They just have to feel like taking it. More personal freedoms down the drain. There's no such thing as democracy or freedom in the U.S. anymore...

When the gov't rules against free speech

Ministers say hate crimes act could muzzle them

I'm interested in seeing how far the convolutions roll down in order to make one thing legal and another a hate crime while respecting each person's 'rights'. (We have no rights. Rights are only privileges allowed us by the ruling authorities anyway.)
