It may not be anti-religious, but docking marks might be extreme

'God bless you' causes classroom ruckus
"Just common practice or disruptive behavior? Bay Area teacher plays judge"
I think kids today can be different. I'm old, so things were different back in the days of slates and chalk (or clay tablets and pointed sticks, as SWMBO says). If something was forbidden we might test it once in a while, but generally we'd stop doing it. Kids today seem to try to push things more. That's where the disruption might come in...

Maybe it happened as charged

And maybe it didn't.

Holy water allegedly sprinkled on atheist teacher

If it did happen, well, it's a pretty immature thing to do, especially to someone who isn't a friend, and you don't use sacramentals in any kind of joke anyway. If it didn't happen that way, well, someone's fibbing.

Whatever the case, I'm more worried about the continuing collapse of Western culture. Sprinkling water is bullying? Give me a break! The most interesting thing about these school boards is how generally, liberally and misguidedly they apply their various rules. They always take them to such incredible extremes.

I suppose that the 'sprinkled' teacher is too traumatized (by something she doesn't believe in) to continue working and will have to retire on full pension....

The focus of a Nativity play

cannot be a sheep, or an angel...

Schools criticised for replacing baby Jesus with sheep in nativity plays

"School nativity plays that relegate baby Jesus to a supporting role, instead focusing on angels or even sheep, have been criticised by the church."
They deserve the criticism.

It seems that people today want to lose the real, traditional, meaning of Christmas, but keep the holiday because a) it's good for business (commerce and money being the god of this world, after all), b) people enjoy a holiday, and c) it's a tradition.

Tradition? What's more traditional than the real meaning of Christmas? They should really quit being hypocritical and either decide to retain the day as it is meant, or give up the holiday altogether...

Things are

getting kind of silly when the discussion of sex is considered "obscene and pornographic".

Unified boots out church over flier

"Sermons on sex deemed ‘obscene’; parents complain"
As far as the parents complaints are concerned, as them what they let their kids watch on TV or what video games the kids play first...

Health & Safety Rules?

When I first saw the headline I feared more of the insane political correctness that seems to be plaguing the world. Now I find now that this is even stranger. She'd be allowed to wear a lapel crucifix if she chose to but the prohibition is against 'dangling jewelry', for some unspecified health and safety reason. I suppose she could be strangled with it somehow, but couldn't a pencil or pen be used to stab someone to death? How about clubbing a person with a book?

English school’s ban of Catholic girl’s crucifix to be reconsidered

Lord, why do you tary?
