Scientology: Religious sect, or money-making cult?
If they were driven underground the authorities would have no way of knowing what criminal actions they were planning to take (and they have been convicted of criminal actions against government offices in a number of countries already).
And while it may not be globally known today, it will be someday - the word Scientology is synonymous with fraud...
