Is it time to dissolve the Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi?
"This situation is an utter disaster: 800 priests and 70,000 lay people find themselves caught up in a religious movement which, incredibly, still promotes the "charism" of its founder."
Such a sad situation. I feel terrible for those that I know who are involved with the Legion or Regnum Christi. If they, in essense, beatified Fr. Maciel as so many have seemed to, they'll be adrift. There really are some wonderful groups that would be happy to absorb them, both the priests and the lay people - dioceses, religious orders, lay orders (the Secular Franciscans, for example), and many more. They may feel lost, but their true anchor is Christ, and He can be found anywhere. It's never good to pin our hopes on a human being...
