Another post
from another blog 'Whispers in the Loggia', about our dear friend Mel Gibson.
More sloppy journalism and exaggeration from the NYPost, parroting FoxNews. There are errors in almost every sentence, but it’s not worth the time to fisk.
As for “bankroll[ing] schism”: Mel was doing that long before the Passion, first with the SSPX, then with this private chapel. Anyway, TPOTC was mostly promoted by Evangelicals, not Catholics. Also, I don’t know why Rocco titled his post “Pope Mel” – M.G. not a Martin Luther or even a Hutton Gibson in advocating a particular theology. He doesn’t lead a sect. He’s just a rich layman who wants his own priest to say the mass in Latin for himself and his family away from paparazzi and journalists like Friedman.
