Media crucifying priests


Apparently, statistically, more teachers abuse students than priests do, but you don't see the media doing to teachers what they're doing to the whole priesthood. What the scandal is in the Catholic Church is not the abuse committed by priests (though that is an evil in itself) but rather the coverup conducted by the various persons in authority. This really often gets lost in the media discussion and the focus falls on all priests. You couldn't do this to teachers because a) prejudice against Catholics is the last acceptable prejudice and, b) doing so would make parents keep their kids away from school, and you couldn't have that...
