Who would have thought?
Happy Birthday today to
Gloria Steinem
who was born on this date in 1934, and to
Aretha Franklin
who was born on this date in 1942.
What is amazing (to me at least) is that Gloria Steinem is almost 10 years older than Aretha Franklin. Somehow Aretha has always seemed to be there in the music industry, while Ms. Steinem seemed so young in the heady years of the Women's Liberation Movement, yet was obviously much older. It's just a personal perception thing, I guess...
