Catholic Church interested in Crystal Cathedral

"The Diocese of Orange is looking into its options with regard to purchasing the Crystal Cathedral."

I found the link to this article on Fr. Dwight's blog where he very correctly calls the cathedral "a ghastly, vulgar, monstrous greenhouse".

I'm not sure if this is what happens when you let people who have no sense of Catholic tradition and history take over planning or not. I know that our own new cathedral has done more to divide the diocese than to unify it, which a diocesan cathedral should do...
