Damned if you do...

Could a Taser have saved two lives in Montreal?

In this instance I really do feel sorry for the police. What are they supposed to do? There has been so much criticism of the use of tasers by police that if they had used one and hurt (or killed) the person there would be no end to the shouting. So they use their guns and there are two deaths. Which would have been best? Hindsight is always 20/20. The fact is that it was a tense situation in which there had to be split second decisions made. It's easy for all of us in our comfortable armchairs to sit back and criticize after the fact.

I'm beginning to think that the only reasonable response from the police is to get back in their cars and drive away from the ongoing incident. They can't possibly win...
