Harper's office damaged my reputation: Guergis
Anyone who reads the blog knows that I'm not a great friend of conservative politics, and certainly not Mr. Harper's brand. He has consistently done everything he can to remove accountability and openness from his government and to set himself above and apart from the House and the people of the country. I honestly do believe that democracy (however it can be defined in Canada) is at great risk from this man.
In this case, someone's reputation was destroyed for no apparent reason other than she was seen as a political liability. I'm not certain what, if any, wrong-doing she may have committed. Suffice to say that, after shredding her reputation and dumping her, Mr. Harper just walked away. Now that needs answering. Answers, however, are not going to be forthcoming, as he does all he can to keep from answering questions. He doesn't let anyone whose allegiance to him isn't vetted into his rallies and public events. I'm sure if he could keep the Opposition parties from getting into the parliament buildings he would. No, he's a frightening man...
