"A senior cardinal has said the Roman Catholic faithful will not be swayed by "petty gossip" about child sex-abuse allegations."

But the media is making more of it than should be (given the rate of abuse in society in general and other professions in particular) in an effort to discredit the Catholic Church for some reason...
