We had

a very wonderful tea party today. The weather cooperated beautifully, with only a touch of rain at the very end of it. It was a summer celebration to dedicate the completed Cat Gazebo and Cat Tunnel. Despite the graphic here, it was more a tea party than a wild, celebratory party.

We had a very good mix of people attend, from neigbours on the block, to co-workers and just old friends. A few people from a street cat rescue group came to see it as well.

SWMBO prepared a few peace cakes (I bought her the pan as a gift - it's just, well... us) and some of her wonderful vegan sushi. She prepared hot tea and cold iced tea from real tea (no powdered mixes for us!) and we set out some chairs and side tables and people just sat or stood around and visited with each other. It was a beautiful day. I'm particularly pleased that a friend from our Lay Formation program attended, and that Colleen and Linda from work came by. What a nice day. I'm exhausted, and Kate did all the work. What's that all about?
