Despite claims

that its therapeutic, it seems rather silly and childish.

Atheists choose 'de-baptism' to renounce childhood faith

If they're decided to follow what they consider reason, wouldn't it make sense not to mock what they once, likely in all sincerity, believed? Why do they need a childish ceremony to relieve themselves if they've now decided to follow 'reason'? Because it's another chance to mock religion? Alas, that's likely the simplest answer.

And now they'll have gone from no longer ever having anything to do with religion to never stopping talking about it...
