The reality is in the headline - 'Father Oprah'. The public has this wonderful media image of this man, which has made him a glorious figure in people's eyes and given the idea that he can do no wrong - consequently the rules must be wrong.
I've always thought that a little reworking of a famous quotation best described our contemporary Western culture: "The mass of men (sic. read 'people') lead lives of quiet stupidity." I know that's harsh, and I'm sorry, but sometimes a person just gets fed up...
