We had a telephone call

on Boxing Day, inviting us out for supper.

A friend of ours called to say that her sister (who is a gourmet chef) had given her a supper for 12 as a Christmas present, and was in town to prepare it, and would we like to come? Well, given the option for a gourmet meal and good company we'd probably have cancelled anything of a non-serious nature. So, we went for supper.

I won't go into detail about the meal as the names of the food won't mean much without the descriptions and I really don't have the time to go into that, but, suffice to say that it was a 5-course gourmet feast that featured a specially-prepared beef tenderloin as the main course, with trimmings, etc., of course. It was wonderful!

We had a lovely visit with our friends. They were the only people we knew there, but we quickly made new friends among their friends and relatives. It was nice, really, really nice...
