This is a good thing

Churches installing cell phone jammers: Also in schools, hotels, entertainment venues, government

Nothing is more disturbing than to have these things go off in the middle of something - worship, prayer, music, theatre, films, etc. It used to be that the odd doctor's pager would go off, and that was fine, but once everyone started carrying cell phones it's just gotten way out of hand.

Cell phone jammers are popping up everywhere - from offices to churches to restaurants, schools and prisons. They're needed in some places such as prisons for security or in schools to prevent SMS cheating - and welcomed in restaurants and churches so patrons can enjoy a quiet meal or service.

Particularly restaurants! It's enough that people have to put up with screaming children (whatever happened to leaving the kids home while the adults went out?), but adding to that the extra-loud talking of people on cell phones it's almost enough to put one off going out to eat...
