This is a bit older

but I just saw the photo in a magazine during lunch today.

Macaque and Pigeon

An interesting story, but what captured my attention was the look on the macaque's face. It is such a look of utter loneliness and sadness. A young monkey, probably old enough to know it's been abandoned and yet still too young to live without warmth and affection. I think you can understand why I often feel more strongly about things that happen to animals than to people. My heart just bleeds for that little guy.

Nothing I've found says why the monkey was abandoned, but we'd likely be correct if we assumed that it had something to do with human beings. We're really nasty to other parts of God's creation that way...
