You can guess that the traditionalists are really feeling that their power is in ascendence when they even start attacking the Knights of Columbus. No one but them (whoever they are) are conservative enough. Soon they'll be pushing for a return to the Latin Breviary, and maybe even putting the Bible back on the shelf because there's always the possibility of error in interpretation, so you really have to leave reading it to the traditional experts...
