Henry may never have been a friend of the working people, however, in all fairness, he realized something fairly groundbreaking: His employees were also his customers. Therefore he wanted all of his employess to be able to afford one of his cars. (which they could have in any colour as long as it was black, of course.) Thus, he paid them a good salary. This is something a lot of modern companies still can't quite get their collective heads around as they outsource everything they can.
