Traditional art as performance?



David Garibaldi: Jesus Painting

I notice he's painting upside down for the most part. That's interesting. Just a few questions:

Are those lights simulating black light to show of the paint (for the audience)? Is his canvas material black velvet? I'd hate to think so. It would automatically classify his art in a different way. Is this the main piece that he does, over and over, for his performance? See, there's lots of things to find out. He has a pretty interesting website, too. His art really is about performance (Garibaldi)...
