Michele Bachmann officially leaves her church
Only Americans would care this much about a politician's religious affiliation. None-the-less, this is a perfect example about the state of the press today. The article starts off about Ms. Bachmann, veers into this Evangelical Lutheran Synods anti-Catholic position, back into the history of Luther and Lutheranism, with stops in various places along the way. It's the best example of a non-news article I've seen in a long time.
Oh, and the comments? I won't start...

The Wisconsin synod, eh? That's interesting! That group isn't just "anti-Catholic'; it's also anti-pretty-much-every-other-kind-of-Lutheran.
They sound like a friendly group. We have groups of Catholics like that too, as you are aware.
