While a thoughtful article,

it also falls into the common trap of considering the U.S. military as the only 'virtuous' army in the Second World War, and consequently the winners of that war.

Is World War II Still ‘the Good War’?

So many American writers consider WWII as beginning on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, and not on September 1, 1939 with the invasion of Poland. Other countries fought valiantly for two years without the help of a nation that remained isolationist at best, and war profiteering at worst. While the war may not have been won without them, they didn't win it all by their lonesome as they'd like everyone to believe...
