'End of the world' cults are proliferating everywhere. When people take off like this as a group, though, I worry about a Jonestown or Solar Temple situation. The leaders of these cultic groups aren't always just after money - they often really believe what they're saying, and they've invested so much into being 'right' in front of their members that they can't conceive of being shown wrong. Everyone is against them. The world is ending, so they want to be spared the suffering that goes with that. It's very sad, but it certainly bears watching...
