Failed Angle
It appears that at least one of the people who disagree with the tone of, and information in, David Di Sabatino's Fallen Angel, has taken it upon himself to do to him exactly what he accuses Di Sabatino of doing to Larry Norman. The various critics of Di Sabatino are quite vicious in their attacks on the internet sometimes and seem to be making up a history about him and accusing him of all kinds of various calumny. It can only happen on the internet. Read this website. It's spooky in places. Norman even kept copies of Randy Stonehill's divorce papers on file for decades. It appears that he didn't throw much out, but he sure kept a lot of things that don't make much sense. A tad paranoid, it seems, was Mr. Norman. While the film may or may not be some sort of revenge piece, this website certainly is one. Not exactly a good Christian response, but who knows if the people behind the website are Christian or not.
I loved Norman's music. I heard him play live 3 times and listened to many, many hours of his music on albums. I also heard him (in live performance on stage) lie about some of my friends and co-workers, people whose actions and words I was there to see and hear, and so I know they were lies. Norman was a normal human being, with some wonderful gifts and some difficult to believe faults.
I suppose now I'll come into the sights of the Norman zealots and be attacked for these comments. Alas, they seem to be wanting to make Mr. Norman into the saint that he wasn't, but that they believe he was.
