I'm re-reading it again. I can't even say how often I've read this book. I first read it back in the 1970's when it was published.Much of it has become almost ingrained in my mind. Parts I can recite from memory, and I can certainly remember where certain events or dialogue occur in the book. It really has had such an effect on my life, my spirituality, and my desire to serve Love. It is an interestingly prophetic book, seeing things in the future with startling clarity, things that were discussed have come to be, such as the cheap New Mexico labour force of Delphi & the moving of manufacturing to these areas and other things, all the while the technology and culture of the 1970's is retained. A strange dichotomy, but also strangely prophetic, as I said.
The book is mentioned on various websites and blogs, but has been out of print for decades. A daughter of the author has commented on one blog that there are no current plans for a new edition, so printing is not in its future. As it stands, used copies are rarely seen and command quite high prices (high being over $100, but for a paperback that's pretty good). I currently have two copies. One is an ex-library hardcover in fair condition, and the second is a paperback, which borders on being in fair (but falls on the negative side of it) condition, but which visibly ages and becomes more damaged with every reading. The printing paper is particularly bad with the paperback, yellowing badly. I take care of them, though, and perhaps they'll last me as long as I need them.
