Starbucks’ Midlife Crisis

"The coffee giant can’t quite accept its own customers’ tastes."What is it, with the large coffee vendors, that 'good coffee' most often equates to 'strong, bitter coffee'? Starbucks, its biggest competitor Tim Horton's, the other 'wannabees' that seek out a share of the pie, all seem to think that 'strong' equals 'good'.
One has to really like strong coffee and cultural status to drink their product regularly...

heh. I really like strong coffee and it's hard to find at a good price, although our favourite Vietnamese restaurant makes nice strong coffee - or used to. It's awhile since I had coffee there, but I assume they still do. And Tim Horton's coffee is ok.
I would have agreed with you in my younger days, as you know. There were days and weeks through which I lived on coffee, the stronger the better. Now, as I age, I find that strong tasting coffee is more that I like for some reason.
Perhaps it's because you've taken better care of your health over the years than I have? Who knows?
