If the parents are really unaware of what's happening with their children you can't really blame them. All they want is a good life for their children. But children should be allowed to be children, and we don't allow that anymore. In countries in turmoil we keep them fed with fear and anxiety. In the West we don't allow them a moment to be kids and just play. We're all guilty of this.
Still, I can't think of a penalty harsh or cruel enough for the people who perpetrate these horrors, though. And when I do I have to ask forgiveness for the hatred and anger I feel...
