It seems

that a lot (or even perhaps most) people I knew back in university days went through a period or phase of attraction to Ms. Rand's ideas. Perhaps it was the image of being intelligent and somewhat avant-garde that attracted them. I've had discussions with some of my friends that suggest this...

Fortunately, I never did feel attracted to her philosophy. I wanted to understand her ideas, but Objectivism was too cold, selfish and, well, somewhat disgusting for me to become attracted to. 'Tainted' would be a good word to us for it, for all you OCD sufferers out there. You know what I mean...
