from the secret archives...Pius XII 'surprises' in store: 'Holocaust pope' archives to open in '5- 6 years'
You know, moving on from this, I'd love to be able to research some things in the Vatican archives. Serious things, not with any idea of scandal or anything. For instance, I'd love to see what the Vatican Archives have on what was the Jesuit priest's, Fr. Leonard Feeney, situation (a long-standing and on-going interest of mine)...

Before the intertubes was (or were)
, I was working on a thesis on the very subject of Fr. Leonard Feeney and the 'Boston Heresy Case'. I was studying psychology and religion at the time. The direction that my research took was not what I expected. I searched out many sources (the documents of which I still have packed away somewhere, others have gone to the great recycler in the sky) and at one point even had a bit of correspondence with some of the members who were 'regularized' and back in the Church. These days all this is much easier to do, and the intertubes takes you in seconds to information that was hard won in earlier days. Given what I know from years gone by, studying would, in some ways, be much simpler today. Still, I wouldn't give up the discipline I learned in my studies all those years ago (Note: Obviously, I'm old)...
