Good article...

Turning the air blue

"The odd expletive escapes most people's mouths in times of stress, but when we fall back on swear words just for effect have we really just run out of ideas, asks Clive James."
I still fall prey to the odd expletive when seriously frustrated or angry, but overall, I try not to swear at all. I think really does show a paucity of thought and ability to control one's self. I came to this conclusion while watching a comedy routine by Eddie Murphy. I suppose there was some comedy in there, anyway. I couldn't tell if anything funny was said between all the m_____f______r's or not.

My father was military and then police. I have never in my life heard him swear, yet he was never unable to make his point of get his idea across, and often in a very definite manner.
