A review

by Fr. Dwight Longenecker, of

I Am Legend

An interesting film, and one that I greatly enjoyed. The dog was great.

This film is a remake of the 1971 film The Omega Man, another very good film. This stars Charlton Heston, and while I'm not usually a big fan of his work, I enjoyed this film a lot. (I'm not usually a fan of the big, square-jawed, macho-male actors of the period, of whom Mr. Heston was the club president, and Kirk Douglas his V-P. ) The Omega Man suffers only in the fact that it was filmed during the 1970's, so there's the usual period placement, but given the fact that it was supposedly after a human apocalypse the references are much less obvious.

Both of these are great films. Don't forget to watch the dog in 'Legend'...
