Ah, George Bailey...

What Would George Bailey Do?

George wouldn't have been in the business to make as much money as he could in the first place. That's not what the Bailey Brothers Building & Loan Association was all about.

---------------------------------

This is an aside, not a comment on the article:
But, you know, my father was part of a group that founded a Credit Union to help the people in our community get a start. We lived in a working class section of the city and people back then couldn't get money from the banks at all. The Credit Union existed to help them, and it did. It gave many people a start to success. Today it has been purchased by a larger financial group and it's just a branch of a large organization. It follows the same rules as the big banks and you've no better chance of getting help there than from the big business banks. So where are the Bailey Brothers Building & Loan Associations now? That 'human kindness' thing has been replaced with cold business. A sign of the times...
End of my personal comment. Thanks for reading.
