right-wing governments in particular are terrible at doing things to protect the worker. They're more interested in protecting the wealth of the employer...
Our Secretary of Labor is M.I.A. in Protecting Workers (Part 1)
This is the U.S. Secretary of Labor, but truly, it applies just as well to Canada. It does need to be remembered that the economic crisis is not caused by the workers, the crisis is caused by the greed, selfishness and risk-taking of the employers. Ultimately it won't matter. The workers will be the ones hurt and the employers will smile all the way to the Cayman Islands (you can't trust the banks anymore) and the governments are just there to carry the bags for them...
