Pope approves beatification of St. Therese's parents in Lisieux

In our modern Church it is a fairly rare thing for anyone but a priest or religious to be declared a saint, mainly because the process is so time consuming (and, I expect, expensive for the research) that only those groups with people who can devote themselves to the work can realize their objective. So, it is rare for a non-religious to be declared a saint, but even more, it is an incredibly rare thing for a married couple to be declared holy in this way. Because it is the parents of the holy Doctor of the Church, St. Therese of Lisieux, I expect more time was spent on it by various people. Still, it's quite an achievement...
