Another incentive


Vatican looks to modern artists for divine inspiration

They're looking for modern artists at "at the highest level", which is understandable, as the Vatican has, in the past, been supporters of some of the world's greatest artists, but it's an incentive for less established artists as well, as the local parishes haven't been big supporters of artists doing religious art and this might be a motivator for them to start. A friend of mine is a religious artist who has struggled in the past to get anyone in the Church interested in anything that isn't a nice statue of Jesus or Mary or a set of Stations of the Cross.
