"The idea that Lewis, for example, was writing Christian apologetics in his Narnia books (an accusation that was made on the release of the recent Narnia film) is absurd. If Lewis wanted to write Christian apologetics, he could do it quite effectively (e.g., in Mere Christianity, Miracles, or The Problem of Pain). But a fictional presentation of a story with strong underlying Christian values is not an apologetic."
