They were angry

at the Pope when he opened up the privilege of celebrating the Latin Mass along with its prayer for the conversion of the Jewish people. I wonder if we'll hear a peep out of them now? This goes far beyond one small sentence in the Mass.

Evangelical Leaders: Jews Need Jesus Christ

Most likely it's because the Catholic Church and the Jewish people have 'a history'. Old grievances are never forgotten. That's why people who have been held in peace (say, by the Soviet Union) for 100 years will, when freedom is restored, just start beating the snot out of each other as if there was no intervening break in active hostilities. It's the human way. Pretty much sucks, doesn't it?
