While Fr. de Souza might seem to be extremist and alarmist, I can think of how many hours are lost to productive time in the office by people playing even a simple game like solitaire. I know people who can't leave their computers alone because of video games they play (though I know people who do the same things with IM, Usenet, and IRC). Thankfully, my computer years started long before games were available and I never really got into playing them...
