This is not a bad thing

House backs elective Bible courses

Some of the most interesting things about studying my Old Testament and New Testament courses was finding out about when the books were written, who wrote them, about 'Q' and the Priestly and Yahwistic redactors of the old testament, the authorship of the New Testament in relation to the historical times, the suggested authors and the controversies, - all those things - putting them in a historical and literary context. The Bible is the most studied book in the world (sorry to disappoint you, all you 'Left Behind' fans).
