Archbishop Hugo Chavez?

Please bear in mind that this is Fox News commentary, no matter who Father Jonathan Morris is. Also bear in mind that Henry VIII has already done this so there really IS a precedent.

So much of the commentary on the 'net is by U.S. bloggers and so naturally Chavez is demonized by them as much as Chavez demonizes Bush. No matter what Chavez does, it's wrong. If he were to starve the poor he'd be evil, but if he feeds them he's an evil manipulator. People seem to make much of the fact that the Catholic Church in Venezuela has been opposed to Chavez. I wonder why there wasn't such noise made about any Church opposition that may have existed to the right-wing dictatorships in various South American countries that were responsible for so many human rights abuses, 'disappearances', death squads and so on.

We all wear blinders when it comes to our own political and nationalistic positions on issues.
